Sub surface water collected under the pavement and built up to a point where it was draining over the surface of the pavement. This sub surface water presented a fall hazard when the water was freezing on the surface during cold weather. The freeze/thaw cycle will also cause damage to the pavement.
Sub-Drain Installation Saw cut pavement 2' to 3' wide. Remove pavement and and excavate a trench 1’ wide x 1.5’ deep. Install 4” corrugated perforated pipe with sock at bottom of trench tying into existing storm drain. Backfill trench with 1” clean stone and compact. Install asphalt patch matching existing pavement thickness.
Sub-surface water encountered during excavation for a sub-drain. Sub-surface water is a leading cause in pavement failures.
Unsuitable Sub-Soil Removal Excavation of an area of unsuitable soil with an excavator to minimize disturbance of the soft soils. Installed geo grid stabilization fabric and install new stone for stabilization of area before pavement was installed.
Installing stone over Geo Grid Stabilization fabric on a new construction parking lot.
Install on Geo-Grid on Full Depth Patch Area
Excavation of Bio Retention / Rain Garden Area
Install of Bio Retention Materials
Finished Bio Rentention Area
Installation of roof gutter drainage system under the pavement.
A parking lot in North County had a sink hole and we excavated the area to find a broken clay pipe.
